Deepam Tech Lab
Technology is today’s greatest aid to learning. Surveys and research reveal that most of the State’s education budget is put toward buildings or teachers. The State cannot provide students with plates for the free midday meals, so the students have to bring their own. On paper, schools are supposed to have computer labs. But in reality, they are either in the implementation phase, or are in the process of being approved. Kaiwara’s government high school – as well as the PU college – does not have a computer lab. It is difficult to think that students do not have access to computers for practical, hands-on learning, in a time where technological advancements are seen more by the minute than by the day. The success of Project Patrika encouraged and motivated us to address this problem and develop educational infrastructure further. The Deepam TechLab was inaugurated in January 2020. The lab is complete with computers configured to the latest, licensed Microsoft Office suite and other software to aid learning. The computers come with tech support and manufacturer warranty on all the hardware, so any technical issues can be taken care of efficiently. The lab serves to be a center of learning that incorporates education on technological skills that are consistently in demand, thereby boosting their chances of a bright future.
